Port St. Lucie Business Women Install New Board At Holiday Gathering 2019
The Port St. Lucie Business Women ended their 39th year with the Installation of new Board members at its holiday party on December 5 at Shuckers on Hutchinson Island. Installation Committee Co-Chair Anita Fischer welcomed members and their guests to celebrate the remarkable women of the organization.
The theme of this year’s Instillation was “Coins of the Future.” Carissa Vega presented members of the outgoing Board with golden engraved coins highlighting their contributions such as building mastery and skill, inspiration leadership, creativity, team spirit and going above and beyond.
A candle-lighting ceremony followed the coin presentation. Each newly elected Board member lit a candle after Stephanie Morgan recited the responsibilities of their particular position, with each one pledging to faithfully perform all duties belonging to their elected office. Incoming Board members are Donna DeMarchi, president; Dana Trabulsy, vice president; Melissa Winstead, secretary; and Stephanie Morgan, treasurer.
Donna DeMarchi offered Words of Vision following the Installation of incoming officers. She read a quote from her favorite author, Fred Rogers, encouraging the members to discover and treasure their uniqueness. She the word “wisdom” as an acronym to offer inspirational messages to the Business Women:
“W” stands for the words “women” and “why.” Women offer one another an important support system. Remember, too, why you are involved with the Port St. Lucie Business Women, referring to the book Start with Why: How Great Leaders Inspire Everyone to Take Action by Simon Sinek.
“I” is for the infinite possibilities of things we can do.
“S” is for servant leadership.
“D” stands for development of ourselves and helping others develop for leadership roles.
“O” is for opportunity. Ask yourself how can you do more?
“M” represents mindfulness. We need to remember to live in the present moment and to be present.
The President’s speech was followed by a gift exchange.
