The Port St. Lucie Business Women extended Hawaiian hospitality to their guests at the sold-out 29th annual Fashion Show on April 6 at the PGA Village Island Club in St. Lucie West. Bedecked in bright, bold colors of Oahu yellow, Lanai orange, Maui pink, Kauai purple and Big Island Hawaii red, all who attended were treated to a luau feast and a festive pageant of the latest resort wear provided by Cato Fashions, Dressbarn, Galleria Paradise Apparel, LPL Creations, LuLaRoe, Mochachino, PGA Golf Club and Shuckers Gift Shop Boutique.
More than $16,000 was raised for their Community Action Grants which are awarded to local nonprofit agencies that benefit women and children, and provide scholarships for women who have chosen to continue their education at Indian River State College.
The 120 individual items, gift baskets and gift certificates in the Silent Auction covering a wide range of choices did not dampen high-stakes competitiveness. Top takers included a plethora of gift cards presented in a framed collage; batting practice with the Miami Marlins; cosmetic treatments; and a golf package. Other attention-grabbing top sellers included a Girl’s Night Out for eight at The Cake Lady, a Hawaiian rocker stacked with little luxuries to help with relaxation and a cooler of cheer.
Theresa Fahringer is looking forward to enjoying her all-inclusive 4-day, 3-night Jamaican vacation for two at Sandals Inn in Montego Bay. Donna Mulvey had fun showing off the fashionable Michael Kors purse, scarf and glasses that she won.
G. Alan’s Fine Jewelry & Coin in Fort Pierce unveiled a custom designed and created a Hawaiian-themed necklace, valued at $2,000. Kathy Post was the winner of the 14-karat white gold diamond-studded necklace featuring a pendant of a coveted 6 mm black Tahitian pearl suspended from a white gold and diamond plumeria flower.
