“Sailing In Style” At The 27th Annual Port St. Lucie Business Women’s Luncheon and Fashion Show

Guests at the 27th annual Port St. Lucie Business Women’s Luncheon and Fashion Show came dressed in blue hues ranging from pale aqua to navy as they went “Sailing In Style” on April 22 at Harbour Ridge Yacht & Country Club. More than $19,000 was raised for support their Community Action Grants and provide scholarships for women attending Indian River State College.

Guests had fun getting glamorous in front of a glittering gold curtain for a photo shoot provided by Christi Thompson of Social Booth Company (www.SocialBoothCo.com).

Over 100 individual items and gift baskets in the Silent Auction meant that there was something to appeal for every attendee. Two “money trees” festooned with gift cards and lottery tickets, a porch-perfect rocking chair ensemble with decorative pillows, plaques and other goodies, and a framed Florida landscape by A. E. Backus made for intense bidding. Other attention-grabbing top sellers included Miami Marlins tickets, a St. Lucie County Fair package, and a golf package at Harbour Ridge Yacht & Country Club.

Christine Rigg was all smiles as the winner of the “Pamper Me” Club Med Sandpiper Bay Full Day package for two raffle, including L’Occitane Spa Treatments. Raffle winner Cathy Prisco can’t wait to go “sailing in style” on the Royal Caribbean Bahamas Cruise for two.

Every year G. Alan’s Fine Jewelry & Coin in Fort Pierce unveils a custom designed and created piece of jewelry, which is offered in a separate raffle at the Fashion Show. Krista Addington can display her seafaring spirit as the winner of the 14K gold and diamond encrusted sailboat pendant on an 18-inch chain, valued at $2,500.

Dressed in suave sailor hats Jerry Backus, husband of member Michele Backus, Jim Crandell, husband of member Tammy Crandell, John Gallagher, husband of member Diane Gallagher, Gregg Wyatt, husband of member Carol Wyatt, and Port St. Lucie Mayor Greg Oravec played their part selling raffle tickets for 50/50.  This “winning team” brought in more than $2,000 in ticket sales. The lucky winner of this jackpot was Joan Kahn.
