Every year each of the Port St. Lucie Business Women members is given a back pack paid for from funds from its Community Action Grants to fill with school supplies for underprivileged children. These savvy Business Women shop local businesses for school supplies to fill the backpacks and donates them to the United Way of St. Lucie County.

According to Port St. Lucie Business Women member Cris Adams, who is Vice President of Community Impact, United Way of St. Lucie County, “We started the School Supplies for Students program to help prepare children to start the new school year excited to learn. Providing pencils, paper, notebooks, and crayons gives these underserved children the tools they need to succeed in school.”
